Respite services are provided as a short-term, time limited reprieve for families and unpaid care givers of people with ID/DD an/or ASD in a licensed setting to ensure continuity of care, health and safety.  Respite can provide a well deserved break to assist with maintaining healthy relationships and developing boundaries.

Respite ensures care is provided to those in need for a variety of reasons: an unexpected or emergent change in residential status, an unexpected loss of primary caregiver, a caregivers need to recuperate from illness/surgery, a caregivers vacation or travel, etc.

Respite also provides a unique opportunity for families to develop a trustworthy relationship with a provider over time that are looking for residential placement for their loved ones but aren’t quite ready for that commitment just yet!
